Abercorn Common Website
Abercorn
Common is the first LEED rated (silver) shopping center in the country.
This project was created by renovating and expanding an existing,
obsolete, second tier strip retail center. The design of the center
takes cues from the traditional masonary vocabulary of Historic
Savannah. We added an enhanced, landscaped, pedestrian zone for
shoppers. The new center returns a prime retail site to its full
potential and sets a new benchmark for sustainable development in the
open retail format.
LEED
features include many aspects of water conservation, materials use and
waste reduction, energy savings, indoor air quality and reduction of
heat island effects
